Lord The Wilderness Experience
Num 19:1-22:1
Isaiah 66:1-24
The Lord must be lifted up as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness. Today’s Torah includes a major prophecy regarding the Messiach, the son of God. Our Lord Yeshua, Jesus Christ was to be lifted up on the cross as a sacrifice so that the sting of death would be taken away from all men. This would only take place as men would look upon the Lord who is lifted up. This comes in the lives of Moses, Aaron and the children of Israel during their wilderness experience. The wilderness would become a place where this major prophecy would play out among Israel. In this experience Israel would be stung by serpents and die if they did not look upon the brazen serpent in the wilderness. Israel had strove against the Lord. Moses too had not believed the Lord before Israel. When he was to command water to pour forth from the rock, he instead struck it twice. For this, both Moses and Aaron would not enter into the Promised Land.
The Serpent lifted up in the Wilderness of the Lord
We see in these segments a people in a struggle with the Lord. Places of the wilderness where men get thirsty, hungry, tired, and face many enemies. This is the Lord moving his people into a place of trust. This would become a wilderness experience with the Lord where trust would be learned and a people would be formed into a nation who had faith in the Lord. Finally a nation would emerge from this experience that could indeed enter the Promised Land and conquer the enemy in the name of the Lord. In today’s segment we find the Rock, the brazen Serpent, and Marabah all stopping off points for Israel. These would be places where they continued to murmur before the Lord. These would be Places where they wanted to go back to Egypt. This would be the place of training for a people who saw their Lord deliver them. They were going to make it, even if the Lord had to drag them through it.
Num 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. Num 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

Watchman Torah, read by the Watchman Dana G Smith with the Holy Spirit, Ruach Chodesh giving insight as it is read. This follows the initial Torah reading for all believers who read and acknowledge Torah as a part of their life in Yeshua. The end of this, yet the beginning is, the “Lion of the Tribe of Juda, root of David has prevailed”-Rev 5:5

Maribah, because Israel strove against the Lord
Num 20:1 Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. Num 20:2 And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. Num 20:3 And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! Num 20:4 And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there? Num 20:5 And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink. Num 20:6 And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.
Moses, believed not the Lord me before Israel
Num 20:7 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Num 20:8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. Num 20:9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. Num 20:10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? Num 20:11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. Num 20:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. Num 20:13 This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.
The Serpent in the Wilderness
Num 21:5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. Num 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Num 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

The Lord will plead with all flesh
Isa 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. Isa 66:16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. Isa 66:17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD. Isa 66:18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

Lord lifted up as Moses lifted up the serpent
Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: Joh 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
