America and the Nations
A Word , “naked indifference” to the things of God!
A Society and people that “bare openly” Their indifference to God and of God!
A Society and people, apathetic, with absence of any emotional reaction, lacking enthusiasm,
remaining calm, not seeming to care in regard to the Warnings given!
None heed taken, for they have been taken captive by their own ways!
Let us look at Ezekiel and the message it has for us today!
Ezekiel:
Ezekiel, [name means ‘God strengthens’]
The priest, son of Buzi
He was taken captive to Babylon
Ezekiel 1:1 ¶Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity,
3 The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.
12th year of captivity, Jerusalem smitten-Jan 8, 585 bc
Ezekiel 33:21 ¶And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.
Lord Who Warns, rising up early:
The Word of the Lord is a Reproach unto them!
Jeremiah 6:9 ¶Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.
10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.
The LORD [YHWH], sent you all his servants the prophets rising early and sending them!
Jeremiah 7:25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:
Also found in these scriptures in Jeremiah:
The message:
1. Hearken unto the Word of the Lord
2. Return from your evil way, amend your doings
3. Go not after other gods
4. Do not this abominable thing I hate
Jeremiah 25:4 And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
Jeremiah 26:5 To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;
Jeremiah 29:19 Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 35:15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
Jeremiah 44:4 Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate
They have been refined in the Furnace of Affliction!
These were called by the name of Israel
These came forth out of the waters of Judah
These swear by the name of the LORD [YHWH]
These make mention of the God of Israel
These call themselves of the holy city
These think upon [stay upon] the God of Israel, the LORD of Hosts is his name
-But not in truth
-But not in righteousness
-They were obstinate
-Their necks as Iron and brows as brass
-They sought Idols and graven images
Isaiah 48:1 ¶Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
2 For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.
3 I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.
4 Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;
5 I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
6 Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.
7 They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.
8 Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
9 ¶For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
The Lord Recompenses their way upon their head!
Ezekiel 9:3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn by his side;
4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
5 ¶And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
Wilt thou Destroy them all?
The Lord will recompense their way upon their head!
Lord Who strikes: Ez 7:9
“Then you shall know that I am the LORD who strikes
you shall know that I [adon, adonay -Lord or Master] am
the LORD [YHWH] who strikes [smites, strike, beat, kill, slay, to be stricken or smitten]
These are smitten, stricken, for one reason: “repay for their ways in their abominations”
Threefold judgment: Pestilence, Famine, and Sword [Ezek 5:12;6:11;12:7-15; 12:16;] then a fourth is added wild beasts [5:17; 14:21]
1/3 die with Pestilence-Famine shall consume them in their midst
1/3 fall by the sword all around you
1/3 will be scattered to the winds and will draw the sword after them
A Fourth is added, Wild beasts will be sent against them!
Ezekiel 5:12 A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.
13 Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.
14 Moreover I will make thee waste, and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.
15 So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments in thee in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.
16 When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
17 So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it

2 Timothy 3, The society of the last days will be in love, but not with God:
1. Love themselves
because they love themselves more than anything, this will be reflected in their:
-covetous ways, love of money
-boasters, promote self
-proud, will not listen
-blasphemer, no fear of God
-disobedient to parents, disregard Gods law
-unthankful, they own nothing, they did it all themselves
-unholy, disregard Gods law, no fear of God
The people themselves will have no natural affection, they will not keep their word, nor will they refrain from being false witness, no self control, brutal -violence, despise those that are good.
2. Love pleasure
-loving pleasure and having a headstrong belief and way that is haughty, people that cannot be trusted, who would betray you in a minute for their own purpose. They will have a form of godliness, but this is a form. It has no power, nor the gospel, nor salvation. The form is their, but no substance, the glory is gone. This is the Laodacian church.
2 Timothy 3:1 ¶This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
The Faithful and True Witness: Repent and Live, anoint your eyes with salve to you may see! Hear my voice, Open the door, and I will come in to you!!
The form of Godliness, Rich and in need of nothing church!
This is the harlot church!
The Amen is speaking
Isaiah 65:16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
“The God of Truth”, “The God of ‘amen’[hebrew, ?amen ( 543), “truly; genuinely; amen; so be it.” The term ?amen is used 30 times as an adverb
the Amen -- (Isa 65:16, Hebrew, "Bless Himself in the God of Amen ... swear by the God of Amen," 2Co 1:20). He who not only says, but is, the Truth. The saints used Amen at the end of prayer, or in assenting to the word of God; but none, save the Son of God, ever said, "Amen, I say unto you," for it is the language peculiar to God, who avers by Himself. The New Testament formula, "Amen. I say unto you," is equivalent to the Old Testament formula, "as I live, saith Jehovah." In John's Gospel alone He uses (in the Greek) the double "Amen," Joh 1:51 3:3, &c.; in English Version," Verily, verily." The title happily harmonizes with the address. His unchanging faithfulness as "the Amen" contrasts with Laodicea's wavering of purpose, "neither hot nor cold" (Re 3:16). The angel of Laodicea has with some probability been conjectured to be Archippus, to whom, thirty years previously, Paul had already given a monition, as needing to be stirred up to diligence in his ministry. So the Apostolic Constitutions, [8.46], name him as the first bishop of Laodicea: supposed to be the son of Philemon (Phm 1:2).
The Faithful and true witness is speaking:
2 Timothy 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
1 Timothy 6:13 ¶I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
faithful and true witness — As “the Amen” expresses the unchangeable truth of His promises; so “the faithful the true witness,” the truth of His revelations as to the heavenly things which He has seen and testifies. “Faithful,” that is, trustworthy (2Ti 2:11,13). “True” is here (Greek, “alethinos”) not truth-speaking (Greek, “alethes”), but “perfectly realizing all that is comprehended in the name Witness” (1Ti 6:13). Three things are necessary for this: (1) to have seen with His own eyes what He attests; (2) to be competent to relate it for others; (3) to be willing truthfully to do so. In Christ all these conditions meet [TRENCH].
The Beginning of the creation of God
=>I know thy works
Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell
beginning of the creation of God — not he whom God created first, but as in Col 1:15-18 (see on Col 1:15-18), the Beginner of all creation, its originating instrument. All creation would not be represented adoring Him, if He were but one of themselves. His being the Creator is a strong guarantee for His faithfulness as “the Witness and Amen.”
I would thou wert cold or hot
=>Lukewarm, I will spue thee out
Why?
=>“Because thou sayest I am rich, and increased wi th goods,a nd have need of nothing.”
=>“Because you know not you are in fact wretched, miserable, poor, blind, naked”
“Buy of me Gold tried in fire” -v18
-That thou mayest be rich and white raiment
-That thou mayest be clothed
-That the shame of your nakedness does not appear
-Anoint thine eyes with eyesalve that thou mayest see
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten -v19
-I stand at the door and knock
-If you hear my voice, open the door
-I will come in to him, sup with him and he with me
Revelation 3:14 ¶And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
4. The Rich Young Ruler- America
The religious antitype of the true believer
-he came to the Lord, “Good master”, form
-he wanted eternal life
-he kept the commandments
-he was told to sell it all
-he was told the money to the poor
-he was told to take up the cross and follow me
The point: “Those who trust in their riches”, it is “hard to enter into the kingdom of God”
Mark 10:17 ¶And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
Watch, Pray, Don’t become Overcharged, Caught up, in this life, so that the Day comes upon you unawares!
Luke 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
