9  Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

Jeremiah 16:19  O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
20  Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?
21  Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.

Proverbs 30:11  There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
12  There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
13  There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
14  There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men

-Have you ever wondered who was the Richest Generation on earth?
Let’s consider the following:
-We are the decadent -characterized by moral or cultural decline. 2 luxuriously self-indulgent
-We are the most technologically advanced of any generation
-We are the most advanced in all areas of human knowledge are we not?
-Today’s Scientific knowledge is second to no generation on earth!
-Today’s Medical advancement is second to none on earth!
-Today’s War machine is second to none at any time on earth!
-Today’s ease, comfort, wealth, is second to none on earth at any time!
-Today’s selfishness, pride, debasement, debauchery, sin, pleasure is second to none on earth!

And this is the only Generation to fulfil Daniel’s prophecy of knowledge increasing!

Daniel 12:4  But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Also this Generation will be the only generation to see a time so terrible, it is warned about in scripture, a time of tribulation so fierce that if God does not stop bring it to a close, “no flesh would be left alive”.

To the Jew’s this time is known as “Jacobs trouble”!

Jeremiah 30:7  Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Daniel 12:1  ¶And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

To the Gentiles it is known as the ‘great tribulation’ such as was not since the beginning of the world, nor ever shall be again!

Matthew 24:21  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Jesus called this a snare upon the whole earth!

Luke 21:35  For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Have you ever asked why this is so?

This Generation will be without excuse when it is done! On the day of Judgment they will have no excuse before the LORD who judges all men!

In Jesus’ Day, the Pharisee’s, Saducee’s, and the rest of the population had for a witness and testimony ‘Moses and the Prophets’.

In Jesus’ Day, the LORD himself came and fufilled the scriptures, and as a witness, as a testimony against the generation, revealed the Father and the mercy that would be available to those who would repent.

Today, we have the continued witness of Jesus Christ, his Apostles, and the early church, all of whom accepted the testimony of the fulfillment of the Prophets by Jesus Christ and went forth to fulfill what we call the great commission!

This generation will have several witnesses to the truth, but yet, many will not hear!

The testimony of the Saints themselves:
Revelation 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death

The Witness of the Gospel into all the earth:

Matthew 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come

The testimony of the two witnesses during the Tribulation

Revelation 11:3  ¶And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4  These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5  And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6  These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
7  And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
8  And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
9  And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
10  And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
11  And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12  And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

The testimony of the LORD God speaking through the Tribulation

Revelation 11:17  Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
18  And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth

Revelation 15:1  ¶And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God

Revelation 22:6  ¶And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done

The Royal Generation of the End times: “In Need of nothing, I am God”

In the Torah, purple was used as a color of royalty, to be used in the holy place for service, for the priestly garments. It is a symbol of royalty. In the context of the Priestly service before God, it symbolizes the royalty and richness of God, the sacredness of the office, being set apart to minister.

In the New testament it is used of Royalty and riches in the eyes of the world, having obtained all man could, he sits at the top of his station in life, so to speak, dressed in his finery of purple and fine linen, the best money could buy! It is used of godless mammon before God!

The Rich man dressed in purple and fine linen:

Luke 16:19
¶There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

The two types in the story of the ‘Rich man and Lazarus’:

1. Lazarus- suggests the beggars faith in God and patient dependence in him.
-he is in Abraham’s bosom
-he is rewarded
-he does not speak a word here, indicating submission, patience
-he does not gloat over the rich man’s fate who gave him nothing

2. Rich man-type of the world, the harlot, the pharisee, the religious,
-pious, indignant
-he is at the extreme end of Lazarus
-he is seen as rich, covetous, and proud
-he lives in luxury
-he is not moved by the sight of Lazarus to help him
-yet all this does not condemn him.

3.He is in sheol or hades not because he was rich and Lazarus is not in ‘Abrahams bosom’ because he is poor.
Lazarus has received the testimony of ‘moses and the prophets’ and the Rich man did not! There was no faith in the LORD, the Messiah, there was no faith, no spiritual rebirth, no compassion, no love, in fact, this shows he had contempt for the poor as he lived in luxury!

4. This also reveals the difference between lives lived:

The one lived here on earth, in the flesh in decadent luxury
The other lived in hades, in his spiritual body in flames, in torment

****There is a danger to be so cold hearted, so hard hearted, so conscience seared that you have shut out God!****

The Story:
Luke 16:20
And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

Luke 16:21
And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

Luke 16:22
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

Luke 16:23
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Luke 16:24
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

Luke 16:25
But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

Luke 16:26
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

Luke 16:27
Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

Luke 16:28
For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Luke 16:29
Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

Luke 16:30
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

Luke 16:31
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

The Woman, Mother of Harlots, dressed in purple and scarlet:

The woman dressed in purple here also represents godless mammon, but also represents the harlot church, who is dressed up in her finery from the world, having both mammon and god, or so they think, serving both mammon and god, or so they think!

Revelation 17:1  ¶And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
2  With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
3  So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4  And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5  And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6  And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

This Purple and scarlet is also represented in the City of the Harlot, ‘Mystery Babylon’ itself. Also remember the whole world has drank of the cup of wine of harlotries and fornication which she has!

Revelation 18:12  The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13  And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
14  And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15  The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16  And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

AGAIN! ****There is a danger to be so cold hearted, so hard hearted, so conscience seared that you have shut out God!**** The Rich man was not in the ‘book of life’, Lazarus was!

The Testimony of Moses and the Prophets: The very testimony they rejected along with Christ Jesus!

Acts 15:21  For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day

Acts 17:11  These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

John 5:46  For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
47  But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

The Testimony of Jesus Christ:
John 8:24  I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

The Testimony of the Works of Christ:
John 10:25  Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

John 10:37  If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38  But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

The Testimony of the Law of Moses, the prophets, and the Psalms about Christ Jesus!

Luke 24:44  And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

The Testimony of the Scriptures about Christ Jesus!
John 5:39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Even with all of the above testifying of Christ, the jews, many of them, including Pharisees, rejected Christ Jesus, Yeshua Ha Massiach!

The Rich Arrogant Generation of the End times: “Rich and in need of nothing”

Having everything, but the True and Living God!

Luke 12:16  And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17  And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18  And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19  And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20  But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21  So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

The Rich fool, is characterized by:
-Selfishness, I will, I shall do, I will bestow, I will say!
-Covetousness, My fruits, my barns, my fruits, my goods, my soul, much goods, take ease, eat, drink, be merry!
-No regard for God, he was not ‘rich toward God’

So too, is the Laodacian Church that is the type for this age!
Revelation 3:15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

The Generation without excuse, the penalty of not heeding Gods Call!
Note the difference below between those who hear and those who do not!

Song of Songs 5:6  I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.

Isaiah 50:1  ¶Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.
2  Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.

Isaiah 66:4  I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
5  ¶Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

Isaiah 65:12  Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
13  Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:
14  Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
15  And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
16  That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
17  ¶For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Their Worm dieth not!
Isaiah 66:24  And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

Isaiah 14:11  Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
12  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Jesus uses the phrase ‘worm dieth not and the fire not quenched’ four times in Mark 9! IT’s real!

Mark 9:44  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45  And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47  And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48  Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Repent or Perish!
Luke 13:1  ¶There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2  And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4  Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

The Faithful, ‘Laying up Treasure towards God’

There is much that can go in this section here!

1. Seek first kingdom of God-take no thought, do not doubt, have faith,
2. Do not fear
3. The Father wants to give you the kingdom
4. The Father will take care of your needs
5. Give alms, walk in love, let compassion pour out in word and deed
6. Let your heart seek the true treasure, not earthly but heavenly
7. Let your lights be burning and be ready
8. Watch and be ready, waiting for your LORD to return
9. Be watching, waiting, and working as the LORD himself would do
10. If you do this, you will be blessed!
11. The LORD is coming in an hour ye think not!
12. Repent, believe on Him, and follow him!

Luke 12:22  ¶And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23  The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24  Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25  And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26  If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27  Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28  If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29  And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

Luke 12:30  For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31  But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33  Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
35  Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
36  And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
37  Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
38  And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
39  And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
40  Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
